Kirsten's first 5K!

Early Sunday morning we headed to the St. Louis Zoo for Kirsten's first 5K, my second. 

You GO girl! 

 

It was pretty hot, we were happy to cross the finish line. 

We didn't need the First Aid crew though! Crossed the line on our own!

Then we took advantage of the morning and spent some time at the zoo. 

This is a family tradition to get a photo of the kids by the elephant fountain.

We were treated to a playful show by the baby elephants! They were enjoying some sibling horse (elephant) play, in the pool.

I have found a new way to spend some quality time with my girl. Who would have EVER thought?

Ahhh, that's more like it! Some believe that beer gives them a carbohydrate boost plus the extra potassium needed after a run. I am one of those people!
