9/11 Memorial ~Art Hill St. Louis

On September 11, 2001, the country was shaken by terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Ten years later, St. Louis is coming together to remember -- and pay homage both to those lost in the attacks and the veterans who gave their lives in the war that followed.
3,000 American flags, one for each life lost in the 9/11 terrorists attacks were planted on Art Hill in Forest Park. St. Louisans began congregating there the morning of Sept 11, 2011, for a memorial service at 8:46 a.m., the time of the first World Trade Center attack. The flags were displayed through Sept. 18
Tyler and I made it a point to see this amazing display. Tyler was in kindergarten on 9/11 and remembers very little of what happened that day. This was a good time to talk about the day, and reflect on the lives that were lost and changed forever. It was beautiful, solemn and a very moving experience to share.
