it only took 18 years....

and 13, to get these two up in the St. Louis Gateway Arch! We took advantage of the unseasonably cool temps. Perfect day to enjoy a field trip. It's like 73ยบ in July???? More like October! We'll take it. Anyway, we headed downtown, to explore the Riverfront. The journey to the top of the Arch is quite an adventure. You ride in a little 5 person pod-like elevator. It only takes a few minutes to get up, and even less time to get down! The view from the top is awesome and it is weird walking around up there. It is like a curved tunnel and it is a little hard to keep your footing because of the curve. You lay on a ledge and lean over to look out small windows. I haven't been up there in years myself. The wait is a little long because of security. It is a National Monument so cost is minimal, you can get $5 off coupons on large soda cups from McDonald's which made it $5 for adults to go up. Kids 15 and under are only $5 also. There are movies and other things to do once you are in.
