Tidbit Tuesday...

Play with pattern! So many times we grab our solid cardstocks because we are afraid of pattern. Give it a try. Use your photos to choose coordinating pattern papers. For the most part, if you find one paper you like, several more coordinating papers will be right next to them at the scrapbook store! Look at your patterns as you may when you are decorating your home. Like a sofa and pillows. Choose patterns that contain the same colors. From there mix the SIZES of the pattern so they don't all blend together. Big flowers, small polka dots, then add a nice medium size stripe. Voila! You can always use a solid or tiny print to matte your photo to separate it from the busy background. Remember if you are in love with a color or printed papers that don't coordinate with your photo, change your photo to black & white or sepia tone!
Have fun!
